 1. Description
WINS Development Kit PIC18F4550 is a full featured development to carry out development of embedded products and applications. The feature rich Kit extends all the ports, has built-in DC power supply, USB interface, supports In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) and Self Programming through USB-HID Bootloader. It incorporates a fully featured Universal Serial Bus communications module that is compliant with the USB Specification Revision 2.0. The module supports both low-speed and full-speed communication for all supported data transfer types. RS-232 interface available in the Kit allows user to interface directly with Personal Computer for serial communication. On-board 32Mbit EEPROM can be used for data storage applications. On-board 4x4 Matrix Keypad and LCD module facilitates user for quick development of products and applications. The Development Board is supplied with sample programs for on-board peripherals. ICSP and Self Programming features allow the user to program on-chip flash memory of PIC18F4550 without the need for expensive external programmer thereby saving cost of programmer for the user. ICSP programmer board is supplied with this kit. User may however request for microcontroller with pre-loaded Bootloader firmware if self programming option using USB interface is required. User will be able to interface for this option with USB connector (Instead of serial connector as in case of ICSP) of personal computer directly. Free Code for 18F4550 microcontroller is also provided. Developer can also use out of a large variety of WINS’s Quick Design Boards in addition to on-board features to facilitate fast and easy development.
